I'M about TO START TAKING HARVONI TOMAROW FOR MY HEP C TYPE 1A .IS THERE ANYONE ON THIS SITE THAT IS HEP C CLEAN THAT TOOK HARVONI LAST YEAR (2014 ) ALSO DOES HARVONI RAISE UR BLOOD PRESSURE, I'M ASKING BECAUSE OF THE AORTA ANUERYSM I HAVE. :-)

My husband just finished Harvoni treatment yesterday. He checked his blood pressure twice a day for 6 months he never had any issues with high blood pressure while on treatment.

There is one new warning with Harvoni recently. Gilead's patient information regarding other meds you may be taking is in the link below. Glad you will be able to treat with Harvoni and rid yourself of this virus.

Thank U so much DDMom & themiz,I saw my Liver Specialist yesterday and I'm in the process of getting my meds through CVS Pharmacy. I also take Milk Thistle capsules once a day. Doctor told me it was cool to keep taking them. Hopefully tomorrow I'll find out when I can get my meds. I also have the beginning stages of cirrhosis, my breath smells real bad in the morning, is it because of the Hep C in my liver ? Well thank U so much for the support Guys. I really appreciate it.

My husband went through CVS Specialty Pharmacy for his prescriptions for Harvoni every thing went great, no problems at all!! He also had dry mouth really bad and that was due to medications he was taking....it got worse while taking Harvoni...So he rinsed his mouth out with water several times a night and he used mouth wash several times during the day to prevent dental issues.

There are specific mouth rinses made to combat dry mouth at night. Every drug store has them.

I'M about TO POP THE FIRST PILL NOW. IT'S FRIDAY, GONA BE 9 P.M SO ITS AT 9 EVERYNITE FOR THE NEXT 12 WEEKS. I HAVE NEVER TAKEN ANY LIVER TREATMENTS. LEAVING IT ALL IN GODS HANDS NOW. EXCITED AND SCARED AT THE SAME TIME BECAUSE OF THE AORTA ANUERYSM. LATERZ MY HEP C BUDDIES.

Does anyone know if I can take baby aspirin while taking Harvoni ? Also what foods can I eat ? I want to make sure I'm doing this right :)

Call you doc. They are monitoring your treatment and will weigh risks and benefits of rx and otc meds and herbals.

welcome moe!!! i have talked to Gilead and they assured me only side affects are the headaches and occasional tiredness and they said that only happened in 6% of people in trials so so far so good!!!keep your head up!! Things will get better!!! the clouds can't last forever...The sun has to shine soon!!!!

Going on two weeks now with my Harvoni treatment. Only side effect I have is I get tired sum. I'm taking it at 9 p.m. I do get dry mouth sum but I drink lots of water. I do notice my Liver doesn't swell up anymore and my stomach is not noisy anymore. I am staying with my veggies & my soups. I'm eating healthy now with sum sweet bread once a month. I'm thankful to be alive each day and thankful to be sober each day also. going on 22 years now one day at a time. :) Laterz my Liver Peeps. Thanking all of you for Ur support and help.

hello!! Moe!! i started my Harvoni a week ago and i have the same sides as you..so this isn,t bad at all compared to interferon!!I drink lots of water and eat good...actually my appetite has im proved LOL. good to hear your doing well!! great to know!!

HI MY HEP C FRIENDS, FINISHED MY 12 WEEK TREATMENT OF HARVONI, IN THE FIRST 4 WEEKS OF TREAATMENT MY ALT COUNT WAS 14 & MY AST WAS 17. IT HAS STAYED THAT COUNT SINCE I COMPLETED THE TREATMENT IN JULY 21ST TO NOW AUG 24. MY DOCTOR WILL SEE ME SEPT 24 AGAIN FOR LAST BLOOD LABS AND THEN HE'LL MAKE THE CALL THAT I'M CURED, SO FAR IT LOOKS VERY GOOD FOR ME. THANKING GOD & ALL OF YOU FOR UR PRAYERS & SUPPORT.

YES I WILL LET U KNOW. NOW JUST DOING AN MRI FOR MY AORTA ANUERYSM TO CHECK IF IT'S STAYING STABLE AT 4.4. THEY DON'T WANT TO open ME UP UNTIL IT'S 5.0. KEEPING MY BLOOD PRESSURE AT 102/67. :) LUV U GUYS. THANKS FOR ALL THE GREAT ADVICE. :)

Well the good news is about your CURED status.

Congrats.

And bummer that you have another medical diagnosis to keep track of.

I don't know to much about the ascending aortic stuff, but read a bit before this post. Seems like they are just there and the docs will intervene if they get large. So you have a diagnosis and treatment plan...good.

I wanted to tell you my partner Mike has had to work through a cardiac thing also. He got his TP in 2011 but still had Hep C. He got treated in 2014 and is CURED too. BUT, last December, after a many year "watchful waiting" his aortic valve crapped out and he needed a valve replacement. The surgery was serious but he did well and quite frankly after THIS recovery he is better than in YEARS. Like there was just one more thing to fix and he'd be fine.

I hope you like your doc and do the follow up regularly. Who knows why these things happen.

Thank U MAMA LAMA :) Luv that name :) Yeah I am waiting to go get my 4 month MRI on my Aorta. Make sure it's stable. Is taking Milk Thistle for my liver to keep it healthy a good thing MAMA LAMA ? Do U know much about Milk Thistle ?

Are you on a statin?
I have atherosclerosis of sorta and history of liver disease .
My dr wouldn't start a statin, because of possible liver interaction.
I got this info from my medscspe account;

While statins can cause liver enzyme escalation it also protects liver from decompensation.
