Hi everyone.. I'm a 25 year old male who was told when I was 17 that I had AIH/PSC. I was never 100% diagnosed with the illness but instead told it was a "working theory" as I was responding to the treatment but not showing the usual symptoms. That's been 8 years now and I am still being treated for AIH. This year in particular my LFT's have been up and down like a yoyo! I am on mycophenolate and prednisilone, as well as omeprazole and carvedilol. I wasn't able to tolerate azathioprine when first trying medication which is why I'm on mycophenolate. I make a concious effort to watch my diet. I rarely eat junk food and I am very interested in the gym so go to the gym quite often to do exercise, mainly weights. I rarely have alcohol, if any, and this in particular has proved to be quite difficult at times having been undergoing treatment since I was 17. I hold down a normal job and work different shifts. In the past 3/4 week my LFT's have shot from the 100s to the 700s. I have been on the prednisilone constant for 8 years with the dosage varying. Today I got told to raise it from 15mg daily to 30mg. I barely show any symptoms of AIH like fatigue, ill feeling, nausea, joint pain, abdominal pain or anything like that. The only symptoms I have ever shown are slight yellowness around the eyes and some blood vessels on my upper torso or face. The fact that this has been going for so long with so little symptoms and never having actually been confirmed as AIH is now making me wonder whether it actually is AIH or not. And doing everything in my power to try and help but being given the news that my LFTs are going up again is making me think maybe it's something else. Just looking to see if anyone cod give any advice or support because it's mentally starting to take its toll on me a little bit now and I don't always feel the doctors are he best people to speak to.
