Hey music! So nice to see your name here today. I am sorry you are having problems with HE. It stinks!
Xifaxan IS expensive.
/www.xifaxan.com/?gclid=CMu2wab618oCFVBffgod8_4M_gSalix does not help with cost for themister's Xifaxan. He is on Medicare. The offer is not valid if your prescript
ion plan is paid/partially paid by Medicaid, Medicare, or federal or state government programs.
I know neomycin once was used for HE. You could check with your doc on that.
Lactulose is the main thing to keep HE under control. It comes in a couple of flavors/colors. Your sides are normal for those taking lactulose. Not a fun medication. You may need a higher dose if you aren't getting 3-4 loose BM's per day...or more, but check with your doc on this.
Themister was given an enema of lactulose at the hospital, and it took 3 days to get him stable enough to go home.
Sorry you are having problems with HE, music. Not easy. Again...really nice to see you here. Big Hugs
