is ringing ears a symptom of liver disease?

It's funny that you mention this! There are theories, mainly through Chinese medicine, about liver ying and yang causing tinnitus. I wanted to comment because I started to experience this when my Chronic Hep B got worse (active) and never had ringing in the ears before. As my viral load when very high, so did the ringing (and itching) in the ears. Eventually, as I have been on treatment, it went down to almost none existent. I only notice it in quiet areas now but it's enough to be troublesome for me at certain times.

Most people will tell you it's due to age related hearing loss, or being exposed to loud noise. But in a lot of cases, people get it without this. A good example would be a buddy of mine with chronic kidney issues. Ever since they got worse, he got ringing in ears as well. I'm a strong believer that your internal organs are triggering off this symptom. Also, if you are on any medication, it too can trigger it off.

Use headphones. It's a video that apparently supports detox of liver, kidneys, lymph and intestines. All's I know is that my tinnitus disappears for a few minutes after it.

Some people have had success with accupuncture and their tinnitus but I have yet to give this a try myself. I don't believe it is necessary at the moment and I've had it go away here and there, which is a sign that something is healing.

My partner, the one with the liver stuff, does not complain of rininging in his ears, but he is hearing impaired. It is unclear if there is any connection because he has been losing his hearing for years, but he had Hep C for over 40 years...so chicken/egg...or just bad genes!!!

I don't have liver disease but do have ringing and static in my ears all the time. When it is really bothering me, I use ear buds and listen to classical music to distract me from the "white noise" in my head all the time.
