 I'm doing my second round of pegetron (week 7 now) . This time I'm using the redipen and I don't know if that factors into the equation. I ended up in the emerg. room at the local hospital. It turns out that I have developed gout as a reaction or side-effect of the peg. Nobody here (medical community) seems to know much about this as it is such a low percentage of patients who get this. Has anyone else ever heard about this and does anyone have any info about treating this form of gout?

Hope to hear from someone soon and this is quite a dilly for my first time on any forum or chat room.

Its my understanding that gout is caused from the kidneys not processing certain acids,,,and that medication,diet and alcohol can all contribute to it. Ask your dr for a diet to help prevent a flareup of gout,,,red meat is one of the things that you should not consume large amounts of,and alcohol is a definate no-no,,,but your dr should be able to give you a more detailed diet to help you. unfortunately the treatment your on can affect many different parts of your body,and is different for all people.. good luck with completing your treatment and i hope the rest of the time your side effects are minimal. This is a great site for information and support so you lucked out with this being your first experience with forums:) please keep us updated on your treatment and how your doing.

whine away! lol My husband can be um,,,,quite the whiner himself,so its nothing im not used to...hmm as a matter of fact,i can whine pretty good myself at times lol hey ,,everyone needs to vent sometimes ,so dont feel bad at all. have a good day

alan....i have had gout for about 10 years, still searching for answers and medicines......

ive had dr after dr.......hopefully my doc now, is the one......how have you been?

Hello sbigsby36, and welcome to HealingWell, I don't think your going to get a response from Alan as you posted from an old thread from 2006.
