Hep C+ organ donation

Before I was diagnosed with Hep C I was an organ donor.

After I was diagnosed I was told I could never donate blood or any organs. At my most recent Hepatologist appt. I was told I could be a donor to another person with Hep C. I am now back on the donor list. My liver isn't perfect but the need is so great I encourage all you folks with Hep C to ensure your family knows you wish to be a donor to the folks with Hep C. Every liver counts.

Cary: When I went for my eveluation. My husband and I spoke to a gentleman who had hep C and had been successfull treated for it. He still ended up having to have a transplant. He received a donor organ from someone who had hep C so was on his was to recovery from the transplant. Then he was going to deal with the hep C issue again. He was doing well and very grateful. Just wondering if I would be able to be a doner, since the cause of my liver damage is unknown. Well on second thought. Maybe not, my liver is damaged, my kidneys are bad , my heart is messed up , and my vision is now getting bad. Whats left to donate????? june (oh well it's the thought that counts).
