Hi everyone here to share my gloom and doom.  I got my itinery for my next check up at Mayo. Says 3 days??? For blood work, liver scan, hepatologist and pysch. So we called(My husband) to try and reschedule and condense. Any way in the mean time we were preparing to drive, getting car tires rotated, oil change,etc.... Well today I was going to visit my elderly friend, and my son. And got into an accident where I ended up going to the ER by ambulance. I was hit by someone who ran a red light, I tried to avoid her when I saw her . She hit me on the front passinger side,spun me around and hit me a second time on the rear passinger back side. The impact send me into a light post three lanes on the opposite side. She was not injured. I am O.K. just neck pain which they said my get worse as the days go by.

 

Lost second part of post. Am to tired and in painto contue.

 

Low platelets, low sodium. Bit high on ammonia, Mono high low WBC .

I am so thankful that you did not recieve more injuries than you described. What a frightening experience. Please keep us updated on how you are doing. I hope the neck pain does not get worse. Will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

(((June))), I am so sorry about your accident. You really didn't need anything else to worry about or take up your energies and time. I am glad that you didn't get hurt worse than you did....Hang in there...........we are here praying for your full recovery. Let us know how it went with Mayo.

June, I'm so sorry about the accident.  Watch your neck!  Did you get a soft cervical collar for support?  Also, muscle relaxants might help.  If you had a whiplash-type injury, you may have problems down the road.  I hope it wasn't that serious and that you will fully recover, but please do take it easy in the coming days.

Thank you all for responding. They did give me a cervical collar. I had whip last years ago and already have several bulging disks. They could'nt compare current injury with old films because they weren't done in this hospital and I could't tell them the info they needed. The ambulance tec. told them he had had to push or pound on my chest because I passed out and was not breathing for a few seconds. Now I can feel the pain on my chest where he pushed on it. He should have left me alone. I am pretty disgusted with the ways things have been goingl
My son and his girlfriend came over this evening and brought us dinner. I had already eaten my rabbit food and tofu.
So next my sons girfriend asked if we had asked for a police report. My husband hadn't tried but , so she called and my son went for it. I was headed west , she was headed north . The report only said I said the light was green and I said my light was green. How is it possible for all lights to be green . It does't say if he had spoken to any one on the scene. And a female ENT was on the spot to help, she must have seen it. And Of course there was a young girl who said she was on the lane right next to me . She said the light had just turned green but she was on her cell phone and had not paid attention other wise she would have gotten hit first. And since she was on the cell phone and that is an illegal thing to do while driving, I guess she wont say she saw anything. So tlhing are up in the air, Kind of me on the meds .

June, I am so sorry that this has happened to you and of course I wish for the best. I wanted to add that when there is muscle injuries like whiplash, twisting your back, etc. it can take anywhere from 3-10 days before the worst of the pain really starts. It sounds odd but if you think about it then it makes more sense. Initially the muscles are traumatized but not swollen, then they swell and the pain increases from the swelling. Then as the days progress you have the intial trauma, swelling, and our arrgravating it by just doing our everyday activities. So now just the movement increases the pain. Thats why they tell you it will get worse before its better. The good news is that after about 2 weeks or so you will start to feel better and have some mobility. The big secret is to baby it some, take your muscle relaxants, and be patient. In most cases there is no permanant damage just a few weeks of utter misery. Hugs to you June, we love you.

June, just take it easy.  Stress doesn't help those neck muscles.  wink    First things first...take it easy and get better.  Breathe in, breathe out.

shakehead   shakehead Here I go again friendsl two days after I had my accident, my brother who was an identical twin, went into the hospital with chest pain. Dr. thought he was having another heart attack. It was phemoniah sp. He had a heart attack a few years ago and had open heart surgery..

 

He continued to have pain and was moved to a heart hospital. He was 62 years old and had kidney problems, therefore he could not get a transplant from my other brother. He had had kidney problems since he was 14 years old. After his kidneys began to fail last week they finally put him on dialisis     . He had also developed gallstones. Dr. were not sure if they should operate because of his kidneys and his bp was as low as 30/20 at one point.  Hardly alive but lucid enough to feel pain. With no pain meds till surgery because bp. They finally had to do gallbladder surgery. When they went in the gallbladder disintigrated. He continued to bleed profusely and they could not figure out where the blood was coming from. So they went in again .Finally he couldn't take any more and passed on Palm Sunday. . This time he did not make it.

 

I will miss him dearly as will the other 8 siblings. He was one of the only people I could talk to lately. that didn't say to me I've heard that story already sis.  His twin brother I'm sure will not fair well after this. Nor will I.  Even though he was so very ill all the time , I don't think he was done on this earth. Please say a prayer for him and his family. And every one he tried to shed his light on while he was here. Now he shall shine in the heavens and be there for us when we are done here. Prayer for us not really for him because he is in a better place.    june

June, please accept my sincere condolences on your dear brother's passing. I will be thinking and praying for you and your family as you are right.....your brother is in a much better place.......

Hi June, I am so sorry for your loss. I will keep you and your family in my thoughts and prayers. God has a plan, sometimes we don't always understand but have to believe he needed your brother. Please take care of yourself.
