*Update*

I've been browsing this forum for a while but haven't posted much up until about a week ago. Anyway I made a post looking for more information about liver failure and cirrhosis. Sad to say that my mom lost her battle today. She passed away at 1:25pm and yes it was painful to see. We had her taken off of the ventilator at 11 lastnight..she was fighting hard to stay..so hard. It's just so sad. Thanks to those of you that offered information when I was looking.

please let me offer you my sincerest condolences. i know the feeling you are going through as i went through them. i bet you are now in the process of planning the funeral. is she being buried or cremated? my mom was cremated and i found the cutest little earn(just for a little of her ashes as my uncle has the complete set of ashes) but it helps having that with me. if so let me know i can tell you what site i found it.

i am gonna say what helped me the most was remembering all the good times, forgetting the bad times, telling myself that my mom is no longer in pain so that is what you should do. on special days celebrate her life instead of being sad. on my moms bday i turned on some country music and danced and sang to her urn. know that there will be days that you will cry and know that it is ok for you to cry. know that there will be days where all you do is think of her and that is ok too but also remember in your heart that your mom loved you and respected you and was proud of you.

Thanks so much. ..and yes it hurts pretty bad. I just never thought that i'd lose my mom so soon. I'm 26 yrs old, there's so many things that haven't happened yet in my life that I was hoping she'd be around for. It's like I'm okay until someone reminds me that she's gone. Then it's like "darn."

Worriedgirl I really wanted to have her cremated but my sister can't get past the thought of her body being burned. I just wish my mom would've discussed things like this with me before, but I know in my heart my mother wouldn't care if she was cremated or buried she had the whole "I'll be gone anyway" mentality when it came to things of that nature. Funerals can be hard especially when people can't come to an agreement on arrangements. I'm just missing her so much right now. Only those who have experienced it can truly understand that feeling.

it is never easy making those final decisions about funeral arrangements. even if you are the only one there to make the decisions there is always someone who would have done it different. Just i truelly believe your mum is in a better place with no more suffering she will be looking down on you,watching out for you. Like worried girl says she will always be there deep inside you, part of you,part of her will live on in you. Istill ache for my wee gran, I ache for the mum I am losing right now to the alcohol. Funerals are not easy to go through, you are still trying to come to terms with your mums death, so take it easy, you will need all the strength you have.
