Well... a long awaited return to professional life may occur... after six years of dedicating my life to Mike... now it's time to return...back to the professional world... I have interviewed for 2 case manager positions... and now Friday for a vocational counselor position.... I would ask your prayers and positive thoughts for the outcome... I hope this is not inappropriate...I was offered a position in February but it coming only 30 days after we were told Mike had six months it was not something I could do despite his protesting that I take the position... I told him I would work my entry level position the rest of my life before I would leave him home alone to die... it would have meant a 12 hour day and 3 hour round trip commute... we had originally planned to move... I  had interviewed before the bomb was dropped on us.. so now I'm  picking up the job search again... anyways.. plz thoughts and prayers... Sandi

I think it is great that you are thinking about returning to work. You are great at communicating with people and definately have a good way with words. You also have shown such strength through your journey with Mike, it is time tomove on.Mike would have wanted that. you have no reason to think this would be inappropriate, its your life so go out and live it. I truelly hope you get what you wish for...

I have been working an entry level position because I could not take on the responsibilities of a professional job... and take care of Mike... and oh, I do miss him...thanks for your thoughts.. need them... Sandi

Sandi, I wish you the very best of luck with your interviews.  It really is time for you to live your life.  Please let us know the outcome of the interviews.

Good luck Sandi. I totally understand about your choice of jobs while your husband was sick.

It maybe the best time to change to a more challenging job........it'll help keep your mind occupied.

Sandi,

Please know that Mike is still will you in your spirit, restord to health through God, and will smile upon your return to work and continue to be with you through the hard times and the ridiculous times that the workplace offers.

You'll make him proud.

The interview went very well... I have had three now.. would think that something would come through.. I am amazed at the  person I am now because of the time I spent with Mike... he was the first man... who allowed me to be me... and it shows in my self confidence and how I present myself... and one thing that I have found empowering is the idea that after being with Mike as he took his last breath... I fear nothing but my Lord... everyone else move over and out of the way... what a blessing to be so empowered... and how very lucky I am and blessed to have known and to carry Mike every day in my heart... thanks and had an awesome vacation at Duluth, MN... will write a little more later today.. thanks for your encouragement... it speaks volumes to this broken heart... Sandi

God certainly must have a sense of humor... now after coming 225 miles back another counseling department at the same facility wants to interview me either this week or next... oy vey... prayers plz that one of these people see my skills.. and that this ole brain can remember my name when I get there and just exactly what it is that I do...

When the call came in February..

you have the job..

we want you....

Mike said go...

but I had to stay...

to leave him there...

dying 12 hours a day ...

alone...

never...

I told him..

I will work entry level positions the rest of my life

rather than leave you here alone to die.....

so Mike is going with me to these interviews...

I can feel his spirit there...

God has a plan...

and my awaits me...

so onward to the interviews...

God will open this door.

Sounds like the interview process alone is probably helping you heal.  Congrats on all the people interested!  I do hope one of them sends you an offer so you can start moving on and enjoying this new life.  Mike is surely very proud of you from where he's watching.

I believe it's a matter of time... but I'm in it for the long haul... whatever it takes... I'm there with it... and yes, Mike is looking down on me... I feel his spirit... thanks for all the support... I have an interview... next Thursday... back at same place as last Friday... but different department... back 225 miles... but it will all work together... for good... at least my daughter and I have been able to do some traveling and enjoying each other... Sandi

another interview this week.. not sure how it went.. feels more like trivia than based on what I can actually do... who knows... very discouraging...but I'll keep on... Lord knows I can't go back into concrete at this point so gonna stay direct care for now... guess it'll come together eventually...
