 hello pg. i wish i could say things were good, but they arent. i do wonder if i could ask anyone a few questions. my mom has been hallucinating a lot. she thinks chtistmas has passed, told me today my stepdad was in bed, and is just utterly confused about ecerything. she is only taking her bp med and anti depressant now. absolutely refuses anything else. my question is, does this mean she is getting worse?  thanks so much.

It may mean that her ammonia levels are up. Have her hold out her hands to the front palm side down. Are her hands moving up and down........flapping. If she's not taking her lactulose her levels are probably going up. The flapping is one indication of it. She really needs to take her lactulose. If her ammonia levels go too high she can go into a coma.

Sometimes when people get close to the end they see or talk to people who aren't there or who have passed on. How's her urine......is it dark and have a strong odor? Or does she have decreased output.
Is she eating and or drinking less than normal? Sleeping more?
