Got the call this morning

We got the call this morning and he's listed!! He's not very high on the list with a MELD of 17 and no Cancer, but thats OK . . he's on it!!

We have to continue his care with his doctors down here, doing what we have been basically, and when his score increases or he shows a tumor, then PA will be notified and things will move along alot faster.

The Va here, sets up the transportation, air ambulance, now, and we get things set up like it's going to happen soon, and then we wait!!

Thank the Lord for answering my prayers!!

Debbie-wonderful news! All the waiting and appts and testing have led to the listing. So worth it. I am so happy for you both that your prayers were answered.

I've been away and just read your message!  Great news.

Mike was a 17 when he got listed, or 16, I can't remember.

In February.

Then the tumor popped up AND his labs went goofy, the edma came back, etc.

In March they found the tumor, reconfirmed in April, transplant May 1st.

He'll get his liver at the "next crisis." 

Pack, be ready!

While we were in PA for evaluation, the Dr. there told him to increase the diuretic, Spironalactone from 25mg to 100mg, and he is doing much better. He's lost 12 lbs since we've been home. When he first started the meds last year, it caused wicked cramping in his muscles, and it's not as bad now, probably because he has no muscles!! Now the cramps are in his feet and fingers, still painful, but he's dealing with it.
His doctor here is waiting for the official word to set up the air ambulance. I am actually going to KY to work until he needs me back at home. I have a list of family and friends checking on him and reporting to me . . I'm sick about leaving him, but if I don't go make some decent $ now, we'll loose the house when I have to stop working to take care of him 24/7.
We became Grandparents this weekend, to a beautiful baby boy, who wants to see his Grandpa live a long time so he can take him fishing!! We sure don't want to let him down!!

Congratulations, Debbie and hubby, on the new grandbaby!  And I think you are wise in working while you can.

I can't believe he was on such a small amount of spironolactone (Aldactone.)  His cramps may lessen on the higher dose.

Debbie! Congratulations on the new grandbaby!!! Yes, definitely a reason for Grandpa to get better!!

Wise choice about working while you can! I am sure you are leaving him in good hands, and pray for peace for you while you are gone.
