6 Month Anniversary

Six months ago, February 3, 2011,  Ron was in surgery - he received the gift of life - and it has changed our lives forever.  I want to thank the members of this forum who supported us and loved us through it all. 

I think of all the things I would have done alone - we vacationed at the beach with the children and grandchildren in July, Ron is coaching our grandson in soccer, the everyday, 'honey, I'm home' and 'good night'.

Today we celebrate.  We honor the donor and the donor's family.  We know we are fortunate.  I know it was fate and love of God.

Don't I know those feelings. Every morning when I open my eyes and see the sun, that's a plus. Now, I don't take life for granted.

Pam and Ron,

Carol and Mike know well your thankfulness.

Mike is 3 months this week and can't believe his/our good fortune.

I lay in bed just last night touching his eyes and shoulders and chest...thankful they were there beside me.

Others have seen the worst of this journey and I am respectful every day of their pain and sorrow. Who can believe with as bad as he was, that he got a second chance??? At least for a while, it was not yet his time.

PS: I too have depended on this forum to get through the days and continue to participate because it helps put things into perspective and gives me information I can't get any where else...
