Hi I havent been in here in awhile,,so much going on,,my husbands meld is still at 16,,He has diabities hard to control,,he has a bad bleed in his left eye,, he started lossing his vision now he has to go for laser treatment and needles in the eye,,awfull what he is going through,,He lost his right eye in 1999 to cancer,,so hes quit depressed over everything,,I cant believe I havent lost mine mind with everything,I stay strong for him,, hospice keeps calling to see if I need help I just thank them and tell them maybe down the road I may need it but im ok for now,He has a cleo in his arm I give him .25 injection of hydromorphone every 4 hours when hes awake for pain in his hand and wrist,,its because he cant take morfine pills because he vomits,,I just find it strange taking the shots,,I guess I should get on here more offten and vent makes me feel alittle better,,thanks for listening Be back later shocked

Hi, glad to read your post this evening (well, early Sunday morning.) So sorry your husband is so ill. Sounds like so so many things going on with him. Is the bleed from the diabetes or ESLD or do you know? Is he on any kind of anti depressant? My hubby had never really been depressed until finding out about the ESLD diagnosis and if it weren't for the anti depressants he wouldn't have made it this far...Dr. suggested it to him and it helped make both of our lives easier.

Too bad your husband can't take the morphine pills and instead needs the shots. Not sure I could do the injections. I have lots of admiration for you to deal with everything listed here. Can't imagine all these complications. Have a restful evening.

Gypsy, you are dealing with so much, you really need the support of other caregivers. Have you checked out the Caregivers thread on here?

You might want to ask about pain med patches for your hubby. They are extended release and would eliminate the injections.

Hi thanks alot for all your kind words,,,yes the bleeds are from the diabities, ive been so busy havent had time to come back in here,,he had the shot in the eye I sat there and watched,I just never realized they were giving it in the white part and then it bled,,then I went to start my car its a standard and i didnt pull the e-brake hard enough i quess anyway I come in to get my husband and theres my car rolled into the side of the landloards van 1600 in damage thank good for insurance,,then today i give our notice to move march 1st,,,not enough light in this appartment,,and it cheered my husband up just knowing were moving,,he said this place is bad luck,,well I have 29 days to pack wish me luck I need it,,listen to me i just rammble oh well,,will check in tommoroow night if everyting goes ok,,thanks again

Gypsy, I'm sorry for all your recent problems and the stress they cause. Good luck with the move and remember to take care of yourself in all this. Take some "me time" to recharge your batteries. Meet a friend for coffee, take a walk, get a manicure--anything to relax and get away for a short time.

Oh wow. What a bad day, van rolling into landlords vehicle. I know what those bad days feel like. You can't wait until the day is over!!
And moving on top of that...oh my, I am sending you lots of strenth for all this...caregiving is a tough job.
Post when you get time. Always helps me to post a bad day...and when I read about someone else crappy day, makes me feel grateful that my day wasn't so bad.

Hi I guess I had a caregiver meltdown for 2 days,, just couldnt stop crying,,kinda back to normal,, Hospic had called last week asked me if I wanted to go to a caregiver get together..and she would call me in advance,,anyway she called today,,I didnt get to the phone on time,,she left a message that the get together is tommorow at 1pm ,,but I cant go cause we have a liver appointment in the morning and lazer to the eye in the afternoon Anyway she called from a ulisted number,,so I couldnt call her back,,plus am I suppose to bring my husband cause I dont leave him alone,,my god some people dont think,,, And she had said if I wanted to go away for the day they would send a hospic person over to sit with him,,then on the other hand I give him his morfine and diabetic shots,,and they cant give them cause there no qualified,,BUT I AM LOL..makes no sence,,Yep I would love to go get my hair done,,no freinds so coffee is out but on the other hand if I had a day I would drive 2 hours to my freinds,,ok ive talked enough,,thanks for listen take care talk again

I feel for ya, gypsy. I know that melt down thing. Where any direction you go, there are road blocks. Sometimes it's easier to just do it yourself instead of trying to arrange the "help." Been there! Spent some of last several days crying off and on.

But, I had to laugh when I read the part about getting your hair done...I haven't been to salon since my hubby was diagnosed in Feb of last year, so it is now grey and every couple of weeks, I trim it myself. (My old beautian would scream!) I feel lucky if I get it washed... :)

I'll have early morning or late night coffee with you. Just set a time and date, meet you on HW and we'll both drink coffee from our homes (best I can do) and post. :)

(Just an aside: Love your moniker...gypsy...my hubby has a fasination with gypsy culture and has all kinds of books on gypsies. He has worked with gypsy families in some of the circuses and considers himself to have a "gypsy soul". His dream is to own a Gypsy Vanner driving horse and pull a true gypsy wagon.) Sorry, off the subject.
