Hi everyone. Sorry I haven't been around. My husband is doing well, his liver and kidneys. His problem is due to being bed ridden for soo long, he has no muscle tissue and had to go to a rehabilitation center for physical therapy. We wanted to go in FL, but the TP surgeon wanted him close so if he had any rejection issues he'd be there to handle it. So, I have been spending alot of time at the rehab facility and not at the computer. Tomorrow he goes in for evaluation with the transplant team lead doctor, and hopefully we will be headed to FL tuesday. We have been told that it's going to take up to one year for him to regain his weight (he lost 110 lbs) and build his muscle tissue back up.
I have seen alot of people come and go. I've met alot of wonderful people. A couple we met at evaluation in July 2011 got here yesterday for TP. He had his surgery and is doing well. I went with her to SICU (she didn't know where to go and wanted me there for moral support)this morning, and the surgeons lead doctor asked if I was making rounds? It was quite funny. Then the surgeon came thru saw me sitting there and couldn't see her and asked the nurse what the heck is going on? He thought he had mixed up his patients in SICU. ( He did 2 transplants yesterday and last night and was really tired). A few seconds later he saw her and realized he was with the correct patient he said to me "What are you doing here Mrs Worley?" He laughed when he said it and we told him how we met and kept in touch after evaluation, and he said that it was wonderful. he told her as much time as I'd spent there that I would be a big help if she had questions about things. It made me feel good :)
We are hopeing for a good evaluation in the liver clinic tomorrow and home to FL on Tuesday!!
