pregnancy

I am hepatitis C positive with genotype 1a, and newly pregnant.  I stopped taking birth control after my hepatologist cleared me to wait 2-3 years for new treatment options (after determining via liver biopsy that my liver is healthy), and my gastroenterologist and OBGYN ok'd getting pregnant (since I also have ulcerative colitis).

I am now five weeks into my pregnancy and I'm aware that there's a 5% chance of passing hep c to the baby.  My question(s) to other moms in this forum: has anyone passed hep c to their child?  Did you have any pregnancy complications because of hep c? 

THANK YOU!  I know I'll get info from my dr at my 8 wk appt, but I'm curious.

Especially if you ahve any specific Hep C questions along the way.

We aren't much help with OBGYN problems...but I know one thing that the two protocols are the same for...NO ALCOHOL...since your biopsy shows now damage at this point, best to keep it that way and babies aren't much for cocktails either!

Will your pregnancy be considered at at risk pregnancy from the outset? I have no experience with this. Maybe some of the others know more.
