Good to read your posts here. So glad you are doing well. You have made me laugh many times over the last year when I really needed a laugh. Thanks for that and for giving me hope that one can "get better" and "live a good life" with this disease.

My hubby and I have been fighting ESLD since he crashed Feb 2011, he has been in a nursing home for 6 months and is home and doing so so much better the last 10 days. I would have a hard time believing this was possible, but for your story. Thanks for giving hope through example.

Hey Tina , Sorry about your mom . Try and start a new post so others can help you with questions about your mom . Often times their is so many people just saying hello and a post like yours that needs to be answered is missed , I think Connie ( Hep93 ) gave you the best answer though . Don't be shy . Introduce yourself and welcome aboard .

Angie I read all the post here and followed your hubbies progress ( and sometimes lack thereof ) , I just don't know what to say when I see caregivers of husbands going through this mess . Myself being a husband , Dad and Step Dad it really hits home for me . My wife is pretty tough but she couldn't hide all the pain she endured while I was at my worst . I owe so many people in my life so much but none as much as I do her , She was there when I was losing my mind and very vulnerable . I'm a proud man and seeing my wife take care of me like a baby was more painful than anything this disease has put on me .

So to ALL the ladies who are posting here about husbands , I do read your post but chose not to comment most of the time . I can't put myself in your position and hope that if I ever was I could be as loving as you . Thanks again , From me and all those husbands who can't or haven't said it yet .

Thank a lot for that post Mr. Ziffle. It gives me strength to carry on with my daily AIH battle. After all it seems as we can win every battle we give - no matter what are the odds- we just have to fight & never quit

Thanks...A Ziffle...the climb out of the valley of Death has been a tough one. I know we aren't at the top of the mountain, but we are more than 1/2 way back up. And the last 3 weeks with my husband has been a joy.

PS: He was up at 6:30 and made coffee for me again...2 weeks in a row. I keep telling him how wonderful it is to have him back.

Antonis , It's always a pleasure to see someone who is proactive with overcoming this disease . People like yourself reinforce my belief that nothing is impossible if you want it bad enough .


Angie , It sounds like he's buttering you up pretty good . I manage to make coffee for my honey about 4 times a week , It keeps me on her good side . I need all the extra credit I can get .

Angie, it really is a miracle how Phil has turned around. Even if it doesn't last, you will have some wonderful memories of these days that you never expected. Each of you enjoy every single minute you have together.

A.Ziffle,I truely admire your desire to fight your diagnosis!! As you know many tend to use a death sentence as another excuse to continue the downhill slide.Always wanting the easy way to change.Never puttung effort as you have into leading a quality life after the doc tells them their prognosis isn't good if they continue to drink.What ever put the fight into you to change I can only hope rubs off onto many in the same shoes.As for LJ,he is still on the down slide.Custody is about to be taken away from him and into my hands.Not what I wanted but is what it is.I am attending Alanon and I am working on me.I have made progress through this chaos that is in my life.LJ has been hospitalized again for bleeding varices.No banding yet.I have warned him it will continue to get worse but it just doesn't go anywhere but rising as hot air does.I so love success stories and you are one to me!!!Love and Prayers!!!

Alisa , I am so sorry LJ chose to go that route . His selfishness in the outright face of death sheds light on subject of addiction , If he could only love himself as much as he does the bottle ...........

You my friend have done the only thing you can . Clean up your brothers mess , Take care of his son and most importantly finding yourself peace . You deserve that and so does your nephew . Battling ( Liver disease and addiction ) as you have through no fault of your own says alot about you in the way your handling this . I hate to see it went down for LJ like this but I'm thankful you are a part of his life ( and ours ) . You know you are always welcome here .
