Connie,
Mike is in the same boat...watchful waiting before treatment. They say hiz kidneys (and heart for that matter) are not strong enough at this time and they hold out great promise for new non intereferon based treatments in 2014.
This is the same song and dance we have heard about miracles since 2003! But this time there are actual trials that look promising.
Miami is doing some of the trials now, but not for post transplant folks.
I am just as glad he is not doing the treatment now as I think his heart valve is going to need fixing sooner than later. He is just not feeling well.
BP all over the place and he looks ill.
BUT, his mental acuity is excellent. When it is his liver or the Hep C in particular he gets foggy pretty much right away....and GRUMPY, as you all know.
He is extra tired, very pale, droopy eyes, and short of breath after not very much exertion. We had to return after half a block's walk the other evening.
Cardiology April 10th.
Hope your appointments went well today. I look forward to your post this evening.
Carol
