hi mayasava, welcome!! the 1st thing that jumps out at me is your statement that he injects interferon every other day. we dont use that form of interferon here in the u.s. but i think those of us, that have txed mutiple times remember this treatment. its older but works best on genotype 2 and 3.
elevated bilirubin on tx can be caused by the break down of hemoglobin. also gallbladder or bile duct blockages can make bili flare.
the hep c txs will not help directly in treating fibrosis. treat the hep c sucessfully and the liver will heal the best that it can. my dr treats stage 3f the same as 4.. biopsy is not a exact science. stage 3 can be early or late stage.
glad your bf has forums there. you guys can compare notes.
one other thing to think about
. He is 30 yrs old and is stage 3. without knowing how long he's had this, i would push to keep treating now, or after a short break he can restart this tx.
goodluck barry
P.S. Barry, I corrected your pronouns in the last paragraph. It is Maya's b.f. who has hep C, not her. C.
