Hi Dany and Connie,

I just posted on an old thread, but wanted to write with your names in the subject line, so perhaps you will notice it more.

It has been three years since I last wrote in here. And you were all so helpful and supportive while I was going through difficult times with my mom's Lipitor induced Auto immune hepatitis. She has been doing well, thankfully and sends her love to you ladies.

I also was tested to different auto immune antibodies, and I had two positive antibodies for PBC and Hashimoto 's. Have been monitored ever since and we shall see how the PBC progresses.

How are you ladies? I remember Connie was on a transplant list. I just hope and wish that all is well with you.

Connie did receive her transplant but due to HEP C complications is no longer with us. I will let Mamallama ellaborate more on the details.

I'm happy you posted again and come back :-)  We don't have many AIH folk on here so I remembered you from when your mom was ill.

Sadly, as I mentioned in my email, Connie passed away last year...Dec 8.  She fought a very hard battle after her transplant.  We were all very sad, and continue to be so.  She was truly a gem of a woman.

I'm glad to hear your mom is well.  As per your PBC...have they started you on Ursodiol?  It's the primaly treatment for PBC.  I take it to help with a side effect I was having to my immunosuppressant and have had no negative side effects from it.  It's a bile acid but it keeps the bile thin which helps with any sludginess and potential blockages that PBC can cause...which is how the cirrhosis develops in that disease.

Don't be a stranger...I know, funny coming from me who is rarely on...I can give twenty reasons for my absence but none are acceptable enough so I will make a better effort smilewinkgrin

Glad you are actively posting again.

We have shared our sad news that our WONDERFUL Moderator Connie passed recently. She was an inspiration to so many and worked tirelessly to make this the best forum possible. She was fair and shared of herself every single day. As she failed, she continued to post...short pieces, but was still involved until the day she went into the hospital and then hospice. She only lasted a few days...her body was tired.

Before her transplant, she had already faced many physical challenges, multiple joint replacements, and liver cancer from which she was cured. Part of her liver was resected several years before her Hep C brought her to transplant status. Her TP recovery was difficult as well. Poor Connie, we miss her very much.

She was always hopeful that non Interferon based meds would be come available to our Hep C affected members...her too....but though they are becoming available to more and more people, it is too late for our Connie.

I hope your BPC is controlled and that you will have many healthy years.
