Greetings from the tundra here on Long Island.
I made it! I did not get sick in Puerto Rico. In fact, for the first time in my life, I've returned from vacation relaxed, renewed and well rested - and not sick!
Usually, in the past 15 years or so, vacations, while fun (as you know, I do try to keep a good attitude) always wound up with me returning in bad shape. It could take a few days resting in bed, or weeks of antibiotics to get rid of whatever made me ill while vacationing.
This time I vacationed with my boyfriend. Unlike past long term relationships, my current man loves me unconditionally. He is totally accepting of who I am and he loves me for the presence of my flaws, and not in spite of them. I feel the same way about him.
We were fortunate the flights were on time, the hotel was lovely, and the weather was just extraordinary. So, all those things helped. But the real difference in this vacation compared to those in the past was that he and I were together. And having support and love in the way he and I do for each other made all the difference.
I write this to remind all of you that you deserve to be loved unconditionally, and that you are capable of giving love to those who love you.
This vacation really hammered home the point of the power of love. Please know that I am thinking of all of you, sending love to those who need it. Thank you to all of you who have written or thought good thoughts for me. I really appreciate it.
Susan
