Hep c treatment in Ontario genotype 1a. Need info plz

Hi my name is Gary. My beautiful fiancé and best friend of 27 years has this terrible infection. And unfortunately it's taking it's toll on her health.
She is currently in Vancouver seeking treatment where she is being stone walled by government funding and the clinics out there. She is seeking out treatment without the interferon. So now she is coming home to be with me and try search out options to get her the help she needs to have a chance to be a mother and a wife to us. I do have good benefits thru work with manulife. Not sure if they would cover such treatment. If I find out they do and will speed up the process for getting treatment I will be getting married sooner than I planned to get her on my benefits. So please any info I could be provided for my girl and where we can go and what we can do to save her life would be appreciated.

I have Manulife and I am covered 100 %.It all depends on what type of policy you have with them. Mine is a 100 % no co-pay some are 80 % .Call their 1-800 and ask.
There are many steps in front of you.
First,getting a family doctor.Here in Ontario it`s not that easy, maybe yours will take her.
Second a referral to a HepC specialist or clinic.
Once you have done that they will get you headed in the right direction with contacting Gilead getting a case worker etc.
It would be extremely difficult to co-ordinate everything here and using her doctor in Van.
Good luck. This will take some time and may be a bit frustrating but she will get the treatment she needs. I live two hours east of TO.
