Hi, I'm new to this forum and have a question about a possible side effect from the Solvaldi and Olysio combo. My husband has hep c, severe liver cirrhosis, and a portal vein blood clot with a meld score 12. He started the combo meds 10 days ago with little side effects at all. Two days ago his urine started getting darker and his stools became very light and I was wondering if this could be caused by the medication or should this be a cause of concern. Thanks for any help you can give me as he does not want to call his doctor now because he's afraid they might make him stop the medication.

He needs to call his doc. Dark urine and light stools are symptom of liver disease but sudden onset could be related to the meds or a bile duct blockage. I would call as they might want labs and or a ultrasound.

Welcome to the HW forum.

I agree with others. My partner is on your bfs protocol and has almost no sides.

The symptoms you describe are liver related I think. The docs should decide. He needs fresh bloodwork at least. Call before the weekend.

Post back as you get more information. We'll walk tgroughbthis with you guys.

The doctor got back with us after 10 days and said the light stool is of no concern. Here are a few of his test results from week two on the treatment. AST and ALT in normal limits. WBC 3.38 start of treatment 4.41, hemoglobin 14.1 down from 14.5 at start of treatment, platelet also down to 51 53 at start. Creatinine 0.61 start 0.63, albumin 3.2 start 3.3 and alkaline phosphatase up to 192 was 135 at start of treatment. He still has very light stools and darker urine and now is super tired and sick to his stomach quite a bit. Complains that he's legs feel very heavy and just lays on the couch most days. Hes taking his 4 week bood tests tomorrow and I will update any changes good or bad that I see.
