Hey Bivins! HepC is a bloodborne virus - it is spread through blood to blood contact. It is not considered a sexually transmitted disease. The ways of transmission are: transfusion with contaminated blood, sharing hypodermic needles, sharing coke straws, needle-stick injuries, being born to a HepC positive mother, dirty tattoo needles. It is possible to spread it through sharing razors or toothbrushes, if there is fresh blood involved (but again, the non-infected person would need to be actively bleeding also or have an
open sore.). The risk of infection through sexual contact is very low - main risk is through rough sex, multiple partners involved, or if there is concurrent HIV infection.
So the chances you've contracted HepC from your husband is very, very low. I haven't been tested myself and I'm not planning on it. I'm not saying you shouldn't be tested - but if you just need the peace of mind, just ask for the test the next time you are at the doctor.
