Not sure if anyone can see this, I tried posting last week but didn't hear anything. I'm on my second week of Somali and ribavirin. The week before I started I was a mess, running around trying to get things in order in case I was bedridden lol. All that worrying for nothing. Today is not a good day, stomach cramps, dizzy. .so I'm taking it easy hoping it will pass

Drink plenty of water, 1/2 ounce per pound of body weight. Most people are in a state of dehydration which impairs the bodies ability to fight off infection. Also causing headaches and depression.
Eat good food and get plenty of rest. Light exercise if you can. Watch comedy and laugh.

teen, Welcome! People treating seem to have an ok time of it. You probably read the treatment threads of Allen M, music, icarvyn, Dog LeDon, and Mama Lama's Mike. If not...spend some time with those. Lots of good advice on side FX, like heartburn, hydration, creams for rash, and things you may get, but will be able to manage through it. Tell us more about your Hep C journey up to now. Thanks, I actually read those threads before deciding on treatment, I wanted to hear the real story vs corporate. I drink alot of water normally because of my allergy meds. I was fine last week, now I have cramps hours after taking meds. Oh well 11 more weeks to go.

Sorry about the cramps. Some people get heartburn or some stomach problems, and take omeprozol. I am sure they will chime in. Being Mother's Day, everyone may be with family.

I know what you mean about the fear of treatment. Anyone hearing of the old treatments would have concern. My husband treated twice before the Solvaldi came out. You probably know about the old treatment horror stories. We have our own. He was bedridden 4 months with the 2nd treatment. That interferon/riba combo was simply, barbaric. It is exciting to watch people get through this new protocol with tolerable sides.

How long ago were you diagnosed, and what genotype are you? Hopefully you are early in the disease process . This is an assumption based on your handle ;) Big Hugs

WELCOME TEEN! I replied to your comments on my board as well. Don't overthink this treatment and make yourself sick like I did. If you are having cramps try taking the Sovaldi apart from the Ribavirin. I had some mild tummy gurgles when I took the Sovaldi and Ribavirin at the same time, but have no problems now that I take them apart. Make sure to eat something with the Ribavirin doses. Water is very important, but not too much. I was drinking too much water at first. My urine turned clear and I was peeing so much my kidneys were getting sore so I cut down. I am now on week 8 and not having any side effects at all. Hope this forum helps you have a trouble free treatment. It truly is very tolerable compared to the other combo treatments. Thanks everyone! Part of my stress is my job, my boss isn't the most understanding person when it comes to time off. Got a note from the doctor so there's not much he can do. Happy Mother's Day everyone
