weird pattern of jaundice

My sister seems to have more or less a maintained level of jaundice, however she fell sleep this afternoon and on waking she called me into the room and with my own eyes clearly saw how much yellower she looked, her belly was markedly more yellow than the typical slight tint (most noticeable normally on hands and feet of a darker yellow)

It seemed within just a few minutes this yellow subsided considerably. very strange. any ideas?

Does she have any blockage? Did they check? This is so weird. ML

It happened after eating a (very healthy) lunch and then she fell asleep watching TV for an hour. She's going to do the same thing today to see if the same thing happens.

There are specific tests for blockages, I think MRCP and/or ERCP...there is an entire biliary system throughout the liver, so stones can be anywhere in that system, google all those words. It isn't just the gall bladder, which stores bile. I"m on my way out and can't attach the urls...there is an easy to understand description of those tests on Wikipedia. Hugs, ML
