And unfortunately, my enzymes were still elevated four weeks after treatment. So I am in the small percentage of people who do not have success with this very expensive drug. I heard there were some new drugs coming out in the Fall. Anyone know about
them? While I am not showing any signs of liver failure, I still would like to treat/cure my Hep C. I am an otherwise healthy, active 49 year old male. I don't drink but I smoke a little grass sometimes (maybe three times a week). I don't do any other drugs.
While on the treatment, I had only mild to moderate side effects from the Ribivirn pills. The Sovaldi had no side effects hat I noticed and even the injections of Peginterferon gave me little to no side effects. The Ribivirin made me dizzy and feel like I was high.
I'm new here and just starting to read about
everyone's experiences. I find this helpful. I'm not sure about
anyone else but I have private insurance through my job and am beginning to get a little nervous about
being denied coverage for any future treatments. My Doctors office had to fight to get them to approve the Solvaldi treatment. Seems I'm not sure what to worry about
more, the disease or the insurance company.
Look forward to contributing more to this forum.

Sorry about
your relapse. But there will be better treatments in just a few months. There will be sovaldi and ledipasvir, which will be just one pill a day at close to 100% success rate. In 2015 there will be a 4 drug combo from Abbvie , and there will be daclatasvir from BMS.
Take a break and let the meds wash out of your body. Then get ready for round 2.
I also have private insurance from work. I have treated 3 times and insurance was not a problem. I don't think you will any problems.
Best to you

Rex, quick question. Did you have an EOT VL ? Where are you ALT/AST at EOT if you do not mind sharing? Thanks...You will get it. Hang in there. Big Hugs

Rex, I hate you had the relapse. That's terrible news. However, the new combos will do the job. I'm sure your insurance will cover you. That is a huge political hot potato.
If you don't mind me asking, was the HCV undetectable at any time during treatment?
Could you give us other vitals? Age, how long you've had the virus, and any other factors such as HIV, HBV, diabetes, etc.
Finally, did you miss any doses?
Good luck, brother.
