BR:Needs treatment for Hep C...hoping for Sovaldi and Copegus (Ribavirin) soon...new to forum

Hi I am 49 years old, have had Hep C for a long time just found out about capegus and sovaldi start after a few doctors apts. I am nervous can anyone tell me about how long before the side affects start?

Welcome to our Hep forum, br. What genotype are you? We have a lot of members treating now, and many that completed. Many have documented as the weeks went by. Some tips that make treatment sides less bothersome...drink 1/2 your body weight in water each day (if you are 200 lbs, drink 100 oz water per day. Also, eat something fatty when you take the ribavirin. A soda cracker or toast with peanut butter works well. Some have problems with gastric side fx and take Omeprazole or Nexium .

Riba rage is one of the problems that many report 6-8 weeks into it. Some take an anti-depressant prior to starting treatment, others tough it out. Just be aware of it. Ribavirin does take some months to wash out of your system at the end of treatment, so sides often linger a bit. And know that no matter what sides you have, it is worth it eradicate Hep C.
