I have non-alcoholic fatty liver disease diagnosed 2 years ago.
My platelet count and/or B12 history is as follows:
October 29, 2012: platelet (x109/l): 193, range (150-400),
April 22, 2013: platelet (x109/l): 161 range (150-400), B12: 187 ng/ml, range (191-663)
January 07, 2014: B12 398 ng/ml, range (191-663)
March 14, 2014: platelet (x109/l): 172 range (150-400)
May 26, 20014: platelet (x109/l): 148, range (150-400), B12: 229 ng/ml, range (191-663)
My B12 level is always either below the normal range or close to lower bound. The higher platelet count on March 14, 2014 may be related to high consumption of tuna
fish to improve my B12 level (which improved very good on test January 07, 2014) .
My total protein level and albumin level so far were always a little bit higher than normal range:
May 26, 2014: total protein: 82.7 g/l, rang (62-83), albumin: 59 g/l, range (34-55)
Now my question: platelet count and albumin level decrease are associated with advanced fibrosis or cirrhosis of liver. In my case, they have opposite directions. What does this mean? What is the status of my liver?
Should I be worried? My last liver enzyme levels on the last test are as follows:
TEST (May 26, 2014)):
ast: 32 U/L
alt: 27 U/L
alp: 82 U/L
platelet count ((x109/l): 148, range (150-400)
total protein: 82.7 g/l, rang (62-83)
albumin: 59 g/l, range (34-55)
hemoglobin: 14 g/dL, range (13.2-17.3)
ferritine: 82 micro g/L, range (30-400)
vitamin B12: 229 ng/ml, range (191-663)
