I finished treatment for hep c one month ago today. Genotype 2 b. Treated twelve weeks Sovaldi Ribavirin. So far still undetected. I received a liver transplant 22 months ago, never got well lots of problems. Finally yesterday my transplant Dr. Told me they are now happy with liver function, that's a first my Dr's exact words at one point yesterday was " you have been on the brink of death you are no longer there. You have every reason to be positive and hopeful". Of course I have known I was in very critical condition but they were careful not to admit that. Point is I was very ill took treatment and liver is functioning right for first time. It is very exciting to be told my liver is healthy when I was about to lose transplant. Now I wait to see if it's permanent. Bottom line this treatment works, take advantage of it. Happy and Hoping. Bluz

Bluz, This is GREAT!! Emotionally, this must do wonders for you. I have faith in your continued, undetected result. But even if not, treating is something you know works!! Better and better things keep coming along, too. I am just so happy for you. I am under the weather this week, and really enjoyed your uplifting post today. Big Hugs

I had a transplant 5 years ago and it took 3 years before I really started to get fully functional. Now, I'm as good as anyone who's 64 years old can be; transplant or not.

Mike had his transplant 3.5 years ago. He has only begun to feel himself after treatment May-July this year. He did the Olysio and Sovaldi for GT 1a.

He has other med issues...kidney disease and cardiac issues and has had 3 surgeries since TP for other stuff. But he is playing golf for the first time in 5 years and some days he doesn't take a nap. He has Stage 3 fibrosis, so that gosh darn Hep C did a job on the nice new liver before treatment...we shall see how he does over time.

Right now he wants to lose some weight, add more exercise, and get his hugs incisional hernia repaired.

Wow! Terrific news and so hopeful for all of us! Both You David and you Bluzdaddy give the rest of us who have cirrhosis and some serious damage real hope!! There is so much great stuff happening! Go bluzdaddy!
