Shelly, it doesn't make common sense. However, I don't think the foot bath would hurt her. I had liver cancer from hep C that metastasized to the inferior vena cava. I know that regular chemo does not work on liver cancer. I have spa pedicures about once a month, with the hot water and massage. The water has never turned any color. I had a chemoembolization, which is directed to the arteries that are feeding the tumor. Just one treatment. A month or so later, I had TheraSphere, which is a nuclear treatment directed into the tumor to shrink it--just one treatment. This was part of a study at Mayo Clinic. Between these treatments, my tumor was shrunk enough that it was safe to perform surgery on 05/15/07 to remove the entire right lobe of my liver. The part of the tumor that had metastasized shrunk back into the original liver tumor. I just had a PET scan, CT scan, and blood work last Mon. There was no cancer detected!
Where is your mom being seen? Does she have metastasis to another organ?
