Bad Night Last Night

Hi. I'm new here.
I'm 36, and have had IBS like symptoms since I'm 14. I was on everything from Tagmet, Bentyl, Pecid, etc.
I am currently on Bentyl as needed.
In 2000 (age 28) I had my first colonoscopy confirming I did indeed have IBS.
I would say that I have maybe 3-4 episodes a month now. Pretty controlled.
But last night was a BAD one.
I was in the bathroom from midnight until 6am.
My stomach was in SO MUCH pain. The pain usually lasts 3 minutes, then stops for 10 minutes, then repeats.
Today my stomach is SO sore I can't even bend over.
It feels bloated and I can feel the gas bubbles in it moving around.
It also feels like acid indigestion now.
Mind you, during the episode I took 2 imodium because
I couldn't take it anymore.
Does this happen to anyone after a bad episode (that you are so sore for a day)?

BBG. you said you had a colonscopy confirming that you had IBS so I am a little confused. IBS is a diagnosis made when everything physical has been ruled out but have you had a CT scan or been tested for H. pylori or celiac disease. Are you still taking Pepcid or Tagamet as much of your problem could be from acid as that will cause gas and discomfort. It is not all about heartburn when if comes to acid.

Are you keeping a food diary? Since you have it so often maybe you can narrow it down to certain foods. Also, have you tried the Probiotics or Digestive Advantage IBS as that has helped people. I would definetly try a GAS-X pill, one or two after you eat or you can take one or two before. And do stay away from carbonated drinks. Just a few ideas which you have probably heard before. You might also ask about a endoscopy to check for gastritis. I hope you find a solution soon.
