I am going to have a colectomy in August. I flunked every test they have given me. I am scared and would like to know how others feel about it, Would like to hear how you feel now,,,good and bad. sad

hi Pcaino well I had my colon removed june '07, and I am still 'getting there'. had a few probs, but i seem to be in a minority, I also didn't need a bag they just attached the small bowel to the rectum, but for more info you would be best going on to the ostomie site, all people with the same probs. Take care hope it goes well xx

Hi, all.  I just had a colectomy 3 weeks ago and would like to chat with anyone who has had one also.  I have lots of questions, am feeling depressed, and need someone who understands.  I'm still needing my pain meds and am concerned how to wean off them being I am in so much pain.
