Yeah they identified quite a few items. ones I would never have even thought of could affect me. But the real shocker was the additives, base foods that are found in many other foods, and also the different oils and other things that are used to prepare foods.

Well its been almost 3 weeks and I have to say my symptoms are completely gone. I have stuck to the elimination diet and it has been incredible. I have 3 more weeks left until I reintroduce but right now this has been one of the best things I have done for myself. If anyone else thinks their problems could be food related you should look into this program that Sage has.

Did you do the $600.00 test? I have a large out of pocket deductible for out of network so I will have to pay for all of it. Has the elimination diet been difficult?

I did the $600 test. The elimination diet was a little tricky at first but i got the hang of it. Sage helped out with recipes and suggestions based on my results. Im happy to say that it has worked amazingly.

Do you know where I would find information on the elimination diet? Is that something I can do on my own without the expense of the testing?

Well the whole point of the elimination diet is to eliminate the foods that you have sensitivities with. You cant find out exactly what those foods are unless you get tested. I would have never been able to ind out what to take out unless I got the test done.

BTW..its almost been 6 weeks and I havent had ANY symptoms for the past 3 weeks...NONE!!!

Just an update, I am doing great!!!!! This holiday season should be a challenge but Ive gotten some great recipes Im going to try. Hope you were able to get tested as well. Keep us all updated!

I just wanted to update everyone, since ive completed the testing I have not had 1 single episode with my IBS!!!!!!!!! I truly think that EVERYONE who suffers from this problem should consider finding out what their hidden food sensitivities are. It has helped me tremendously, and the company I had the testing done through (Sage Medical Lab) has helped me me through the process as well.

I highly encourage anyone who has this problem to look into sage medical lab and what they are doing because they have given the power to control my IBS. It is amazing! I have tried every treatment, medication, therapy, and thought hope was lost until I learned about the connection between food sensitivities and IBS. It has given me my life back!!

Has anyone tried the FODMAP diet for IBS? My GI doctor suggested this - there is only one other person he treats using this diet. This is at the University of Michigan. Thanks.
