It sounds like you may be suffering from proctalgia fugax. Its very uncomfortable and I get it occasionally. Feels like knives, sorry but there is really no other way to describe. Sometimes it will come on so suddenly and I will have to lift my behind off my seat for a minute while the pain passes and it seems to really take my breath away at times. Antispasmodics sometimes can help with this condition and although you do not know really when these episodes will hit; they usually will come on a few times in the day so the sooner you can catch it the better.
I've suffered from proctalgia fugax for about
8~9 years now. I'm a 44 yo, male. Like dbab stated, knives is a good descript
ion, while at times it feels as if a balloon is trying to be inflated. After years, of just pacing the house, hoping that the pain will subside, so i could get back to sleep, I stumbled on a wierd remedy about
a year ago.
I noted that I had a slight erection during one bout, and preceded to *********. Upon orgasm, the pain instantly vanished.
I've since read other forums, where this has helped sufferers. Oddly, many attribute an orgasm as to instigating an attack.
I can only assume that a quick redirection of blood flow from the rectal area, is what causes the bout to subside. Hope this helps. It's certainly much cheaper than a pharmaceutical remedy!!
NOTE: I noticed that the forum is text moderated. My remedy was changed to a bunch of stars. I assume you can read between the lines, as to what it is. Wasn't trying to curse, or be profane. Just trying to help.
