Hi, yes the test was a great expense to me. But definatley worth it. I thought the same thing as you when i read the list of tested foods. I didnt eat all ot the tested foods, but i had tried everyother test, so thought id give it a try. The big suprise to me was im intollerance to 412 Guar Flour. otherwise known as vegetable gum. Its a thickening agent in almost everything! sauces, soups, noodles, jam & spreads, chips, pasta sauces, crumbed fish, bread crumbs, alot of canned food, Bread, cakes etc. Although i pretty much a healthy eater, all i needed was one dose of 412 & i would be ill for the next day or two. There would have been no way in the world i would ever have figured out the exact ingredient to be my intollerance if i had followed a normal elimination diet offered by my Doctor. Also i was previously advised by my Doc that i was not lactose intollerent. But this test shows i have a extreme intollerece to Goat & Cows milk, but i can have sheeps milk & cheese? Very interesting that such a small change in diet can make such a difference to my well being. I have have been feeling fantastic, so i thought id test out the diet & ate 1 pumpkin scone.... oh my, definately NOT worth it. Dairy & flour, not a good mix for my tummy! ha,ha
I had the pre-screen test done first, & showed i had allergys in my blood to 4 different food groups. So i then had the full 300 test & it showed exactly what the intollerences where.
Seems i have chattered on a bit... thanks for reading & i wish you good luck
Mini Mouse,
I am wondering if I am having food intollerances as well. How does this test work? Is it a blood test? Does it go thru your gastroendrocrinologist or your family doctor? Does insurance companies pay for it? How expensive is it?
