Wow, Marsky; my insides almost hurt just reading what you HAD been eating!
I'm glad you found a diet that works for you. I read what some others are eating and say to myself, "No wonder they are having so many problems." I have had IBS-D for about
15 years and have really tried to educate myself from the internet and from trial and error. The best site I have found for dealing with IBS is
www.helpforibs.com. The woman who writes this site has so much helpful information.
I wanted to add something about fiber. The site I mentioned discusses the difference between soluble fiber and insoluble fiber better than I could possibly explain. She also deals with the whole wheat bread vs white bread issue, and explains so well why whole wheat is simply not good for people with IBS. I'm glad that you have realized the need to avoid whole wheat. I do take fiber everyday myself (Citrucel) because it helps people who have IBS-C as well as IBS-D. For people with IBS-D like me, the Citrucel helps by forming bulk in the intestines. I tried it very reluctantly, but found that it helps me tremendously.
I'm so glad you are cancer-free and hope you continue to be!
