Perform a search on the IBS forum, there's a lot of info and past topics explaining why Caltrate with Vitamin D (chewable pills, in a purple bottle) is very helpful to people who have had their gall bladders removed. You start out by cutting pills in half and chew 1/2 tablet with each meal. Sip water but do not drink a full glass of any beverage with meals. Watch what you eat also (begin a food journal, over time you'll see a pattern begin to form and foods to eat and also avoid in the future). After your body is used to the Caltrate you can move up to 1 full tablet per meal. 3 a day. But go easy at first. I've tried Caltrate several times, once consuming full tablets and it was just too much for my system. I didn't exactly become constipated (that's never been my problem), I was just so out of whack, it took a week or more to get back to any sort of predictability.
Now I personally find that Colace and a probiotic supplement help me the most. And diet.
But if I were in your shoes, look thru past topics for Caltrate info.
