My gastroenterologist recommended VSLIII and it's wonderful--I had been taking another probiotic for some time and I understand you become immune to one after a long time and it doesn't hurt to change. I take the capsules (2 each morning) just because it's easier and I don't have to try to get a liquid down early in the morning when I sometimes have nausea problems. Walgreen's orders it for me and it's about $42 for a bottle of 60. I would strongly recommend it. Also, please check the website Helpforibs.com The girl who writes it (Heather) has suffered from IBS and knows what she's talking about. Lots of good information. a CD that's wonderful and recipes that are "IBS friendly". although one day I can eat one thing and be okay and the next time I eat it, I can end up in the bathroom for hours. I do avoid red meat, chocolate, dairy and spices and I'm not even sure that helps any more. It's very discouraging. Hope this helps.
