Does anyone else also suffer from lower side and back pains on top of diarrhea and issues. I also found that the pain in my middle and areas toward the whole small intestine feels like a sharp swollen pain like the outer part is swollen, than the inside of the small intestine. I also have severe pains in my lower back and side where the intestine is not located every time I have to urinate and/or urinating. It also affects me when I have a bowel movement, whether acidic, loose, stool, or soft firm stool. Lately, i have been urinating a lot and it feels very hot when I go. I also feel dizzy a lot and severely fatigued to where I have been missing out on warm weather activities, replacing those activities with going to a restaurant and sitting instead of walking. The only time I have any energy is when I am nervous or anxious about something to where I can at least enjoy a walk or two, but this energy is due to my having Asperger's syndrome. I appreciate any answers. Thank you for everything.

Hello!

I am not sure how much help I will be but yes, I do have the side that radiate to my back pain. To the point I need narcotics to decrease the pain. I have been told that the pain is because my left colon has stopped working and I am in the process of training it to work again. Had 3, almost 4 really great weeks but have recently slipped back to the problems (including the side/back pain) I was having and have been having for the past 3 years.

I know how painful and frustrating this can be. All I can tell you is do not give up and be your own advocate. You might ask your GI to give you the Sitz Marker test. This is what identified that my colon was not working.

Thanks for the tip. Actually I had my colon removed, the whole thing a couple of years ago. I am also having problems with urination, either not going fully or going to much. I am glad that you are trying to retrain your colon to work again. I had mine removed because it fully died and had to be removed. I do not have a bag, as my small intestine is connected to my rectum, but giving my current stomach issues, I might second that motion. Well, I hope everything works out for you. That pain sounds familiar to me as well, unfortunately. I hurt in the middle/upper, (epigastric), part of my abdomen, that continues over to my left upper abdomen, and then down about 1/2 way on my left side. This is where I always, always hurt. I have IBS-C primarily these days, but occassionally I still have explosive diarrhea spells that cause me to become sweaty and faint feeling and extremely nauseated. I'm botherd by nausea daily anyway, but it is much, worse when that happens and I often throw up. My pain is so intense at times, regardless of if it's IBS-C or IBS-D, that I can't move because it hurts so bad...I usually end up in tears and that is with narcotic pain meds in me. My doctors aren't able to do anything more for me, they say that my IBS is just severe post-infectious IBS and I've been living with this now for 6 or 7 years. I have issues with IBS daily, though some days are way worse than others. Oh yeah, I should also mention, yes I do have back pain as well, but I have arthritis too, but I think alot of times the IBS flares up my back either because of abdominal swelling, straining, or that forceful diarrhea. I don't know what to tell you to try or do really, but i just wanted to let you know that I suffer from alot of those same symptoms. Hope you are feeling better real soon.

Thanks you all for the support and well wishes. I know how much of a struggle it is. Sad thing is that I tried everything and nothing worked. It has affected my appetite and everything. But, I continue to live life they way I do, go to school, and live my normal life. This is because if I stay home and I just sit, I would get depressed.
