I don't understand the back pain/IBS connection.  I get back pain in my lower back a lot and I always thought it was just cause I was overweight.

I don't think there is a connection between IBS and back pain.

People with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), not IBS, frequently have arthritis connected to their inflammatory disease, and that arthritis is often in the pelvis and lower back.

ah ok that's what I've been reading about then...i have a lot of problems 'down there'....I'll bring it up next time I see my surgeon in toronto, see what he says...thanks!!!!

I've been reading about IBD and it doesn't really sound like me. I brought up to him about cramping a lot before a bowel movement and he said it's because of scar tissue from other surgeries, problems I've had over the years. I'm waiting to hear from him to book another appointment. He's in Toronto, which is 2.5 hrs south of me so not so easy to get to but he's a fantastic doctor.
