IBS? Maybe maybe not?

I've had problems with nausea for about 4 years now. It occurred mostly in the early morning.
It's gotten worse over the last few months though. I'm getting nausea at various times of the day now, with a feeling of "fullness" in the lower left quadrant of my abdomen. Occasionally I'll get a really intense crampy and sometimes stabbing pain there as well.
The nausea has gotten worse too. When it first started, I could breathe deep and get into a cold area and it would settle down. Now I often end up vomiting or dry-heaving.
Now I'm noticing more and more white spots in my feces as well. I apologize if this is too much info but I'm hoping someone might have an idea what's happening.

Abdominal CT (3/11) - small cyst on R kidney which has since healed
Abdominal MRI (9/11) - slight inflammation of right lobe of liver; blood work on liver is negative
Endoscopy (9/11) - slight inflammation in stomach; began taking Prilosec with positive results for the first 2 weeks and then rapid decline
Also tested negative for Celiac and my food journal doesn't suggest a common theme about a specific food issue

Yeah I've been seeing a GI doc since August. He's been ordering all these tests. No stool samples yet but I have a colonoscopy on the 11th. He's not really sure what to think about all of this. I have a preliminary diagnosis of gastritis and ibs. Whatever it is, it's progressing. I keep feeling worse.

My main symptom is nausea. I feel for you.

Have your doctor prescribe you some Zofran for nausea. There is now a generic form of Zofran that a lot cheaper that the name brand. I take generic Zofran 4mg and when vomiting I use Phenagren 25mg suppositories.

I understand. I had a EDG (or is it EGD) done yesterday because my doctor wanted to look as my stomach to rule out cancer or anything else. He did end up taking a biopsy of my stomach due to there being a red area in my stomach. I should have results in a week or two. My doctor did not seem to see it as a bad thing. I guess he took the biopsy as a precautionary measure.

Yeah the Zofran works for me about 90% of the time also. I sucks living with the nausea doesn't it?

I'm not sure. He took a small biopsy of my stomach and small intestines and said that they were both negative.

I'm with the others re: nausea. It's the worst. When I have Crohn's flares, nausea is a daily occurrence, usually from the moment I wake up until lunchtime. Hopefully the colonoscopy will provide you with some answers.

Another option to ask your doc about, especially if colonoscopy is clear, is a capsule endoscopy. You swallow a pill that has a camera in it and it takes pictures of your entire digestive tract every 8 seconds or so. My doctor was able to diagnose my Crohn's based on the results of this. One word of warning on this procedure though: check beforehand if your insurance will cover it. We had to fight with the insurance company for about six months to prove it was a necessary procedure.
