I have severe pain in my lower and just above the pelvis,have to strain to have a bowel movement and feel in complete evacuation. Gut always hurts even after going.also its hard to take a deep breath feels like pushing on my diaphram, so bloated I can't sit, now my rectum feels numb and stool gets stuck in rectum.also no urge to urinate. Had upper gi , ct scans defagram and manometry, wich I couldn't pass a50 cc baloon, went through 4 mos. of biofeedback and and on miralax and nothing works, had a sigmoidoscopy wich found nothing wrong. Now if I take mag citrate I can't pass the liquid, it takes a couple days to get it out. Anybody going throgh this can't take it any more?

I've have the same problem for 8 months, I can't move my bowels, been in and out of the hospital for 8 months, Ive taken cit. of magnesium and miralax they work but the pain is terrible and i go for 8 days without a BM. My doctor just put me on two new pills, (amitiza and hyoscyamine) I have been diagnosed with idiopathic bowel disease. however i am planning on going to a hospital for special cases. I have just had two days of no pain and i have one question for you, do you smoke? i use to only go 4 hours between pain pills and the pain didn't even really go away. but i went to the doctors and he told me to stop smoking but in a way that made it sound like there was a hidden meaning and was not just saying it because he is a doctor. well i threw out all my cigarettes as well as my ash trays and got the e-cigarette and lo and behold no pain.. just connecting the dots makes me think that all my pain was from the cigarette

Hi Terlin. I can definately say YES to experiencing all of this. The pain above the pelvis, the bloating, all of it. Sometimes it is so bad that i feel pain in my ribs from the bloating. The only thing that has helped me thus far are Heating pad on abdomen and submerging my stomach under a hot bath. Complete stomach under water. This for me helps get trapped air in the gut and intestines out. Same applies with heating pad. Another thing that has helped tremendously is my dr prescribing sulfasalizine. It has been a miracle worker in my plumbing department. Also librax..Miracle drug for me. It helps with the spasms as well as pain in the gut. Maybe you could mention these to your Gastro Dr. In the meantime, try the hot bath or heating pad maybe it will give you some relief. But trust me, this is normal with IBS and you are definately NOT alone.
