Hi Tinlou,
I haven't been on the forum in a while. I have Fructose Malabsorption and am on the low-FODMAP diet....for life I might add. I was diagnosed with breath testing. I also tested positive for SIBO (small intestine bacterial overgrowth) and have been treated several times for it.
My gastrointestinal symptoms were categorized for well over a decade as IBS. I am able to control the terrible GI symptoms as long as I adhere strickly to the low-FODMAP diet. With the assistance of a great nutrtionist who is very well educated in this diet I have been able to feel normal again after years of suffering with symptoms and not finding anything that helped.
If you suffer from what you think is IBS, or have been told you have IBS then it's worth your while to investigate whether you have Fructose Malabsorption, SIBO, Lactose Intolerance, or all of the above which asolutely reek havoc with our GI system and make life miserable.
Best wishes and better health!
