My IBS has been acting up with soft loose stools again. It's probably due to eating badly but I have worked myself up to the point of having diarrhea. This of course allows me to diagnose myself with colon cancer. Why can't I accept this is probably all IBS related? I've never had a colonoscopy due to my anxiety related to an expected horrible diagnosis. I've already been in the bathroom three times this morning. So I took half a Xanax to calm myself down. My melting down quickly. But I know I can count in you guys to understand and talk me through this. Thanks for being around!!!

You might find more help about this on our Anxiety forum. But if you are really concerned, I highly encourage you to get a colonoscopy. I doubt it's colon cancer but by having the scope, it can ease your fears.

Hi there,
I suffer from very bad IBS and my bowels fluctuate from constipation to pure diarreha, all through my nerves and anxiety causing it more.

Every day is a new adventure with ibs, isn't' it? Now I'm constipated so I can dwell on the possibility I have a big tumor blocking everything. Even though I went 4 times yesterday!!! I envy those people who have normal bowels. They don't know how lucky they are!!

Hello specialone,
Your not the only person who wished your bowels was stable...i've been like this since a child and suffered with severe pain for 15yrs before being diagnosed and i'm on spasm tablets now and lactulose.
