See your doctor to rule out things if you haven't been checked. That can help put your mind at ease.
I have had panic attacks and the bowel changes you describe were, for me, part of the symptoms. Addressing the panic issue may also help with your digestive problems.
If it is ibs, there are things you can try to feel better. The first one I do is pay attention to my diet to see if something I am eating could be causative of my symptoms. You could try an elimination diet or GAPS to help weed out problem foods.
