Another attack and I'm in a panic

For the past several days I've had loose flaky stools that are sometimes thin. I've had it before but I'm still fearing it's something worse than ibs. I hate feeling this kind of panic. I know I've asked before but a little reassurance would be helpful. Thanks.

It actually is very normal for IBS. Well I get it and everybody i know personally with IBS gets it too. Try not to panic. Panicking causing major stress and could be causing your IBS attacks. I know for one, they cause mine. A heat pad, some painkillers and maybe a nice cup of tea should help you. Staying calm is very important. If you stay calm, your attack with do the same. It will still hurt but never half as much. If you are truly worried, do go to a doctor to get it checked because for all you know it might be something other then IBS but I suggest not to look online because all you will get is paranoid and even more scared and that won't help. Maybe going to a counsiler might help you. I got an appointment a while back and am waiting to see one. Sometimes talking to friends help also. Just keep yourself calm and happy and pull through this. Always remember it could be much worse so you should be happy it isn't. :) Hope this helped!

Thank you so much for your reassurance. I know you're right but it's also much easier to believe the worst. I have googled so much that I've got myself in high panic mode. Ugh!!! I will try to do as you suggest because it makes so much sense! Thank you again.

Haha I do that so much also!! I only got diagnosed with IBS last year after a major surgery so all my intestines at the time and now were covered in scars so i had to learn very quickly how to deal with IBS. if you need any more help you can email me! [email protected]
I hope the attacks don't get any worse! If they do i suggest taking colpermin. It works magic and ask your doc for colofac! Also amazing! If I didn't have them I would probably be in hospital every second week with something to do with IBS!

I'd like tro try that peppermint. I just looked it up. I tried what we have here called Altoids. They are peppermints. I read someone suggested them. They said take chew two or three. Well, I'm in moderate to severe pain. I chewed 4. Waited 2 hours. Nothing.
Moved into my medicinal marijuana ...waited an hour. Better, but so cramping. ....I have pain pills of a good strength, but I don't want to get addicted, and chose to deal with the rest of the pain all day. Smoked a little more in evening.
Terrible , it's just been relentless for months.

Stress/Anxiety and not enough rest/sleep are the worst things for IBS and any other condition that you may have. Stress on the body causes your muscles to tighten and when the pelvic floor is tightened, a bowel movement can be near impossible.
