Is it just me, or do baths and IBS not go together at all? Always after having a bath I will feel really nauseous.... but the pain does go away for a while. It's only been like that since after my ibs had started originally which was about
a year or so ago. Any ideas?

I find baths very relaxing to be honest. I have many bowel issues and the warm water tends to ease my discomfort.

I agree with Sherry, I find warm to hot baths very, very soothing. To some it might seem rather gross to soak in water if you've had a lot of trips to the bathroom. But I just don't care. When I am running to the bathroom a lot and experiencing the dumping episodes, I am chilled to the bone and a hot soak in the tub just makes me feel so much better.
I bought a 12 pack of very thin white washcloths and I use these in the bathroom, to feel really clean. I just kneel out of the water and then wash very well. The ultra thin material of these very inexpensive washcloths is just perfect, sometimes I pack one or two on a trip, because hotels towels and washcloths are usually very thick. So that's my tip for a washcloth. You sometimes see these washcloths at a dollar store. I wash them at home separately in hot water with bleach (with my underwear too). And pitch the ones I pack on trips.
I've never read anywhere that we shouldn't take baths.

Okay, thank you both of you. Will try again. It was probably a side-effect of something else. As long as it wasn't ibs I'm happy! :3 Again, thank you both for reading and replying!!

Maybe don't let the water get too hot. I know if my bath is scalding hot, it can make me feel light headed.

Baths always ease my problems. I find them warm and relaxing...plus I'm close to the toilet if need be

I find that when I take a hot shower or bath I feel good while I'm there but the pain comes back or is worse sometimes after I get out.

I have all sorts of tips for keeping warm after a bath. We have half a dozen fleece blankets we keep on the couches, I put one in the dryer for 5 minutes and wrap up in it, if I'm achy. I also wear down slippers and put them plus Smart Wool type winter sox in the dryer. Even though I'm a mom in her 50s, I nabbed a pair of fleece winter pj pants from Old Navy back when my daughters said everyone was wearing them. Turns out, they are so comfy and I joke I want to wear them all the time. I put them in the dryer too, so obviously if you were to ring my doorbell, I'd be in my underwear in the laundry room sometimes, waiting for these items to warm up (I also tuck the hems of the pj's into my sox, oh I do look a sight but who cares, I'm a freeze cat). But once I'm toasty warm again, I swear but my gut just seems to thank me. A cup of hot tea is great too.
We live in the Ohio and our winters are cold.
