Hi Jack, I'm not too clear on your present situation. You stated that you had constipation as a kid but was it followed by diarrhea back then? Do you remember if your diarrhea was continuous or recurring as a kid or just since 4 years ago or 1 month ago? If the diarrhea is/was continuous since 4 or less years ago, it probably is a different problem as back then. Your doctor may be having trouble with your diagnosis because he/she is confused about what you are telling him/her. If your as you say "regular" doctor is your primary care doc, then it is good to see him too but it's best if you see a specialized doctor who's practice focuses mainly on your lower digestive system. For example; a cardiologist focuses mainly on your heart or a urologist for your urinary tract. I have never heard of a colorectal doctor. Best to see a Gastroenterologist for your digestive problem. I'm sure he/she will get to the bottom of your issues. Try to give more specific dates with your symptoms and make him respond to your every issue. If you don't understand him, ask him to explain. Remember, you are paying him good money. You are the boss. You hired him so you can fire him if you are not satisfied.
It's good that you are trying a probiotic diet for now until you get to a gaostro doc. But not always are the foods that will work for you are in that diet. You usually have to figure out by trial and error until you get what works for you. Generally, this is a good diet for most digestive issues. I wouldn't give up on the acidopholus just yet. It will take the combination of that and the right diet and medication if you need it. As far as your "leakage" problem, I gave another teenager just as you who had the same problem with being in public. The screen name is Person0123 who is 16. I gave a suggestion what to try if you want to read it. I think this would be what I would do in your situation. As I was reading it, I thought it may be you because it sounded very similar. If it isn't, you may want to exchange posts since you both are going through the same thing. So to say, give each other moral support and exchange ideas about what you both are doing. The old "misery loves company." When I got my disease, this site informed me of how others had dealt with it and gave me a feeling of not being alone because I had no idea what I had. Here is a link below to see if it sounds like you.
