Uncomfortable feeling in throat and burping all day every day!

I'm currently doing the DesBio Borrelia/Babesia kit and I'm on vial 8 tomorrow. For the past 2 wks I've had the worst feeling in the base of my throat like something is stuck there. I am also burping a lot - almost constant. I've tried Gas-X and Aloe Vera juice, but it won't go away. I also have some congestion and I've been clearing my throat a lot. I take allegra, so I've added sudafed starting today.

I'm taking Chlorella capsules for detox, along with some other supplements like: Vit D, E, B12, B6, liquid Fish oil, Resveratrol (sp?), Valerean root for sleep, and Nattokinase.

Has anyone else had the throat issues? Any idea if it could be a herx? I'm concerned and my naturalist is telling me to just deal. I don't think she understands how very uncomfortable this is.

It sounds like esophageal spasms and or an esophageal stricture. Try adhering to a GERD diet, plus take a 2 week course of a ppi like prevacid.

Do you know if that is common with Lyme or Babesia, Kazbern?

I really think it's a herx. I'm on this Borrelia/Babesia protocol and just before I take the next dose the throat issue gets worse.

How's the burping and feeling in your throat?

Let me tell you from personal experience, crazy belching, feeling of something stuck in throat, and constant phlegm and having to clear throat a lot was one of my first major symptoms when I first started getting sick (I am positive for Lyme via Igenex and LLMD clinically diagnosed me with Bartonella and thinking Babesia).

I have spoken to a few other people with Lyme & Bart who had terrible belching as a symptom that eventually went away after Bart treatment.

I don't think it's one of the most "common" symptoms that is listed everywhere, but it's definitely a symptom.

I have had Lyme, Bartonella, and Babesia since my tick bite in 2003. I had some brief air hunger, gerd, ibs, and abdominal pain in the early days. Never knew I had the Bartonella or Babesia until 2011.

Once I started treating Babesia, it got really bad for some reason. In the past 2.5 years since I've been treating Babesia, I've had episodes of pretty bad air hunger, and recently it's been every day for 2 months. In the last 6 months, I've had the uncomfortable mucus and swallowing, throat closing feeling, and sudden bouts of burping. I don't know what the heck is going on, and I've thought it was Babesia, but I've wondered if it could be Bartonella. My son also has Babesia, and he has the mucus in his throat. I never thought it was a big deal until it happened to me. I feel so bad, because it is a terrible feeling.

I was in the ER recently and my Lyme doc said that the burning behind my sternum, painful lungs, and breathing trouble is esophogitis. I'm taking cerafate and famotidine for that. It's been a little over a week, and I think I'm a little better. Sipping ice water helps. And I'm also taking tums before bed and once or twice during the day. Recovery is supposed to take 6-8 weeks. My sister is a nurse and she thought that the excess mucous is probably the body's response to the esophageal injury.

I also started taking the Des Bio nosodes for borrelia/ babesia, bartonella, and mycoplasma Nov 15. The only symptoms I have are the ones mentioned above, plus heart palpitations.

If anyone has any experiences they want to share with Babesia and / or the DesBio nosodes, please do tell!!

My daughter experience that feeling like something was stuck in her throat for a long time. Worst feeling, I agree. It appeared to have something to do with her indigestion. However, another part was mental I'm sorry to say. If finally disappeared, after a couple of months. I'm truly sorry that you are experiencing this. Try working on your digestion and any possible post nasal drip.

Thanks Helicopter Mom. I switched antibiotics, and that took care of the throat problems for the most part. Just went to see the LLMD on Jan 19 and he thought we should focus on Bartonella (for now), a known cause of intestinal problems, and possibly the cause of the breathing issues. I'm doing better anyway, thanks!

You are describing classical LPR symptoms. Could be worth checking out.

I know this post is old, but in case anyone else is dealing w/these symptoms... an esophageal manometry, pH study and probably barium swallow and/or upper GI are needed. Dysphagia is a bad feeling! Can easily be mistaken as just LPR or GERD if those tests are not done.
