A little back story, I suffered from a moderate hiatal hernia and severe GERD. 7 weeks ago I had a Nissen Fundoplication. Basically the top 1/3 of my stomach was twisted around my esophagus to support my LES (lower esophageal sphincter). Since my surgery I can not have a bowel movement! My surgeon thinks they are unrelated. He said that if I had even a small case of IBS this surgery could exacerbate the issue. I take colace 100mg twice per day, Miralax 17gm twice per day and a fleet enema about day 7 of no BM. I was hospitalized a few days ago because I was so backed up with feces that my duodenum ballooned with gas and was near perforation. I don't know what is going on or how to treat this naturally. I do not want to be laxative dependent from long term use!!! Any advise?
